Another song I want to share

18 October 2011

I don't know if anyone will like this one. It's bit weird. You have to listen to the whole song to appreciate it, that is if you appreciate it at all. I don't really have much to say about this one, but I feel the need to share it because I love it.

Heart It Races  by Architecture in Helsinki

Also, if you liked this you should check out Lazy (Lazy), Escapee, and Contact High. Just, this band in general, is amazing.

Sharing my music

12 October 2011

I had this blog post all planned out in my head, but now it's come to actually making it real, I've mind blanked. So, there's this song, that I am addicted to, and it's beautiful, right? Comma-overload. It is an awesome song though. I've listened to this one song on repeat for hours at a time, and I'm still not sick of it. I was listening to this song (and Architecture in Helsinki) while reading two books, Dragon Bones and Dragon Blood. And so when I listen to this song, it fills my head with images of a dragon that's every shade of purple, flying, and it's just... perfect. Listening to it puts me in a good mood. So I'm sharing it with you!

Okay, that is all!

PS do you know what language the female vocalist is singing in? It's not on any of the lyric sites :/

Things to be excited about

08 October 2011

It’s funny how many times Blogger appears to “come back to life” and then it just stops... I need a new hobby to keep me occupied and I remember how last year blogging helped with stress and what not, so I shall blog blog blog about anything and everything. And you mightn’t read it... or maybe you will. It would make me feel special if you did though.

Today’s blog post shall be about things I’m excited for. I’ve emboldened the topics of each paragraph so you skip the ones you’re not interested in.

So does everyone know that Super Mario Land 3D is released next month?? And Mario Kart 7 in December‽‽‽ These things excite me because, to be honest, the 3DS was poorly released. It’s a great handheld console; the software is super slick; the specs are fantastic for a handheld; the games have the potential to be great. But you see, that’s the thing... they have the POTENTIAL to be great. But there are like, what? 20-odd games perhaps released for the 3DS. They keep talking about all these amazing games that they’ve got lined up for release but they keep pushing the dates back/not giving us dates at all and it’s getting ridiculous now. Not to mention their poor marketing. So many people believe that the 3DS is just like the DSi was to the DS/lite. It is a completely different console, guys! You can’t play 3DS games on the DS/DSi. And what is with all the hipsters lately? “I don’t play the 3DS because the old games are better” – that really annoys me. Another poor decision on Nintendo’s behalf, was to release an unfinished console. We had to wait several months before we got the eShop and the internet browser and Nintendo Video. And all we had to do in those months was play Rayman or Nintendogs, or some other sucky game. And recently they’ve told us to buy this extension for the 3DS that you stick on (and it looks atrocious by the way) that adds another circle pad, or annalog pad if you will. But don’t get me wrong because I do think the 3DS is wonderful, I just think Nintendo have made some poor decisions. But I’m optimistic about the new games lined up for release, such as Professor Layton, Animal Crossing and Kid Icarus. Oh and not to mention Kingdom Hearts. I am very excited indeed. Plus I get 10 free GBA games before the end of this year because I’m such a loyal customer.

I went on a bit of a tangent there. Apologies! Rantrantrant.

Season 2 of Game of Thrones cannot come fast enough... They need trailers or something to appease my need for more Robb. Not to mention all the new characters! Hello Jaqen H’ghar anyone? He better be as badass in the show as he is in the book. And, trying to avoid major spoilers here, there is an epic battle involving ships and stuff that I can’t wait to see! More Peter Dinklage and motherflipping dragons. The wolves get that little bit more awesome and characters that were just mentioned in passing before have suddenly got huge roles to play. I keep hoping to see Richard Madden walk past me in Belfast. I would just melt if I did!
Belfast Continental Market – I’ve never been before, so I don’t have much to say really. But that’s what excites me most! I’ll be in Belfast everyday so I’ll get to go as often as I wish! I don’t know what to expect but I’m excited about this nonetheless.

So you guys all know I love cartoons, right? Well My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic season 2 episode 3 was delayed. But it comes out next Saturday, and that’s something to be excited about! Plus apparently Derpy Hooves is going to be a scripted character. *squee* I’ve just fallen down the social ladder and I can’t get back up!

A smaller kind of excitement, but it needs to be mentioned anyway, is tomorrow’s Postsecret. You know what’s always fun? When you forget about Postsecret and then remember in the middle of the week. It’s like Christmas! My Christmases aren’t that great to be fair, so maybe y’all don’t feel the same, lol.
Talking about Christmas... my possible Christmas present this year is a contract phone. I’ve never had one before. I’m starting to think I should make a list of things I’ve never had/done before. But my mother seems to avoid this topic now so I wouldn’t be surprised if she’s changed her mind. I hope for an iPhone 4. But an iPhone 4S wouldn’t go amiss, hint hint. I’ve had my cruddy Samsung Tocco Lite for 2 years and it just won’t die. And that’s not a good thing when you’ve got such a crap phone as the Tocco Lite.

I may or may not be going on a holiday soon. A short holiday, but IT’S OUT OF THE UK. And I don’t mean Ireland either. It’s freakin’ Norway! But as I said... may or may not... so it’s not set in stone. But if this happens... gosh words just can’t describe how I feel about this. I’ve never experienced a country outside the UK. It honestly feels like the world ends beyond it. Norway! Just... NORWAY.

There are also several movies I’m excited for and I guess I should say that I’m excited about this whole new style of life I’ve got going. Hanging out in Starbucks and travelling 4 hours on a bus every, spending my spare time reading lots of everything. Newspapers, novels, textbooks, that Japanese book I got ages ago. I also listen to podcasts on politics, philosophy and history. Expanding my knowledge, and all that, to help me decide what I want to do with the rest of my life.

And that’s it really.
