A Meme of Ice and Fire?

22 December 2011

I can't possibly post it all at once because I'm lazy, but I'm doing a drawing meme! So voila, here are questions 1 and 2.

1. Why did you first pick up the book?

Parts of the tv series are being filmed in my area, and of course this generated quite a lot of excitement. So when it aired on Sky Atlantic I was terribly excited. An epic fantasy series filmed practically next store?! I had to watch it. And I was immediately addicted. After the second or third episode I went out and bought all th e books and found them to be even better than the tv series. And the fact that Emma read the books too just made it even better. Fangirlin' it up!!!

2. Who is your favourite character?

At first I thought it would be impossible to narrow it down to one... But then I remembered... ROBB STARK!

Answer ALL the questions!

25 September 2011

Like Emma's blog, only I answered all the questions myself. There are a hundred. So I'll post 20 a day.

1) Put your iTunes on shuffle. Give me the first 6 songs that pop up.
Bad Romance (Lady Gaga), Uptight (Green Day), Attack (30 seconds to mars), Triple Baka (Neru, Miku and Teto), All My Heart (Super Junior), Air Traffic (Owl City)

2) If you could meet anyone on this earth, who would it be?
Adam Young. I’d give him a hug and thank him for his music.

3) Grab the book nearest to you, turn to page 23, give me line 17.
“From the sea had come the ironborn, and the fish that sustained them even in the depths of winter, but storms brought only woe and grief.” - Kind of sounds like a quote from the Bible, or another old book. Nope.

4) What do you think about most?
People. I think of what different people mean to me, how much I value them, whether I can afford to lose them, whether I am likely to lose them or not, how I feel about them... yeah.

5) What does your latest text message from someone else say?
I’ll be ready at half four bbz

6) Do you sleep with or without clothes on?
With

7) What's your strangest talent?
I can twist my tongue... first thing that came to mind.

8) Girls.... (finish the sentence); Boys.... (finish the sentence)
Girls intimidate me, so I fail at making friends. Boys look good with stubble, a pair of glasses and an ipad.

9) Ever had a poem or song written about you?
No, unless you count this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AhreCLlcq3Q

10) When is the last time you played the air guitar?
A very long time ago.

11) Do you have any strange phobias?
Feet. Snipers. Windows at night.

12) Ever stuck a foreign object up your nose?
Nothing comes to mind...

13) What's your religion?
Agnostic, with all the Christian morals and none of the agreement with the Bible. Quel domage.

14) If you are outside, what are you most likely doing?
Walking, wandering, thinking... asda...

15) Do you perfer to be behind the camera or in front of it?
I choose neither! I’m terrible at photography and terrible looking in photos.

16) Simple but extremely complex. Favorite band?
*head implodes* umm... I genuinely can’t decide. I’m gonna go with Owl City because I’m currently obsessing over it again.

17) What was the last lie you told?
Dad (very angry): Where did the chocolate stains on the backseat come from?! I bet it was Gail and William eating in the car again!
Me: Yeah, it must have been...

18) Do you believe in karma?
I believe anything is possible.

19) What does your screen name mean?
Hmm, well derranged was just a random one that came to mind, I spelt it wrong by accident but since then I’ve always spelt it that way. MayJaybbz... James created MayJay in a dream he had. Janicebbz, HA. Once again, just picked the first thing to come to mind. Mayjazzles – oh my word. This one shouldn’t even be explained.

20) What is your greatest weakness; your greatest strength?
My greatest weakness is my short attention span. It leads to stress, procrastination and lack of understanding...
My greatest strength is my loyalty. Yes, this is why I’m a Hufflepuff. I accept it. It’s the other attributes I don’t understand. Patience? Hard-working? Wtf.

And that's the first 20 questions.
Tune in tomorrow for the other 20! Or not. I'll still post them though.

Claudia's Questions

21 August 2011

If you were forced to change your name, what would it be?
I’d change it to Lily, or maybe Lilianna. But I’d have Mary-Jane as a middle name. I always wanted a middle name. ]: And I wouldn't need to be forced.

Mum: "My name means Pure. Have I ever told you that?"
Me: "Do you know what name means?"
Mum: "What?"
Me: "Marijuana."

If you were stuck at one age for the rest of your life, what age would you choose?
18 – young enough for it to be acceptable to be childish while also old enough to be considered an adult. I also still get away with child bus tickets.

You just got a plane ticket to anywhere on earth. You have to leave right now! Where are you gonna go?
I’d say America... but odds are I’d get deported right back here. So instead I’ll go to... that place from The Magician’s Nephew with all the pools in the ground that are portals to other worlds. Or Norway.

If you only had two music artists to listen to for the rest of your life, what would they be?
Florence and the Machine and Swimming with Dolphins. But if you asked me this same question in a couple weeks time I have no doubt the answer will  have changed.

What is your current desktop picture?
Robb Stark. Possibly one of my most loved book/tv series character ever. Which makes it even worse...

If you had to lose one of your 5 senses, what would it be?
Sense of smell. It would be sad to never be able to smell gardens in summer, new books, lilies...

Oh no! Your house just spontaneously combusted! Thankfully your family members and pets have made it out safely, so what’s that one thing you are going to save from that blazing inferno?
My bag. It will most likely have my purse and all my cards/Ids, my 3DS and games and whatever book I’m currently reading.

Matt Smith and Amy Pond have just crashed into your living room in the Tardis. They offer you a short trip back to the past. What year/era would you choose to go to?
To solve all problems I’d go back to Jesus’ death and hang around for a few days.

What one fictional character do you wish was a real person?
Jon Snow. I’m gonna assume his parents are real too (because otherwise how does he exist?) and that would solve all other problems not solved by the before question.

The government is forcing you to produce children and are offering any sperm/egg from any celebrity on earth. Who would you choose?
Hmm... I seriously don’t know many celebrities... I’m gonna say Johnny depp. Because then I can boast that Johnny Depp is the father of my child; no one needs to know the details...

You are holding a baby shower for your new born and are allowed ten guests. Who would be invited?
My 8 other children and the father of the current baby I’m baby showering for. In this alternate universe I’m 28 and have had too many sexual partners to be able to distinguish who was the father for several of my children, but this particular child I’m fairly sure of because I decided to become a nun, except I had a tiny slip up and accidently popped out a baby. To the mail man who delivers mail to the nunnery. Is that a word? Nunnery? The right word? I’m confused.

Wow! You’ve just found your doppelgänger in opposite gender of yourself - how would they look? Speaking of look-a-likes, do you know anyone that looks like yourself?
They would look like me but with a penis. I suppose they’d have slightly long, messy hair (to match my lazy and messy personality); he’d have the most perfect stubble (If I were male I’d perfect my stubble); I’d wear amazing clothes (I always thought I’d dress better if I had to choose male clothing). I have a second or third cousin that apparently looks very like me, incredibly like me. But that was when we were little so I dunno what she looks like anymore.

"That suggests that what you fear most of all is - fear. Very wise, Harry."

02 February 2011

"So the boggart sitting in the darkness within has not yet assumed a form. He does not yet know what will frighten the person on the other side of the door. Nobody knows what a boggart looks like when he is alone, but when I let him out, he will immediately become whatever each of us most fears."

Emma challenged me to describe what a boggart would turn into for me, so here goes...
Bombs and guns are probably my biggest fears but I’m absolutely terrified of looking out my window at night and seeing a man holding a huge gun, with a couple grenades on his belt (is that even where you keep grenades?) staring right at me. He would have blonde hair too... maybe this fear was triggered in fourth year? That was when I was learning about the Nazis in History... maybe... because I also fear nuclear bombs (the other module for that exam was the cold war). That would be another possible transformation the boggart would be for me, a huge mushroom cloud! But it wouldn’t fear me to watch it so I think it would be a window looking out upon a dark night with a blonde man pointing a huge gun at me.
And then I would point my willow wand with its phoenix feather core 11inch Mahogany Unicorn Hair core wand at the boggart and yell:
“Riddikulus!”
And pop! It would (hopefully) turn into a man holding onto a rubber chicken with several Kinder Eggs on his belt and they would taste good. Or if it was a mushroom cloud it would change into hundreds of those marshmallow-y mushrooms with coconut! Yum yum!

Now, I challenge you! To write about your biggest fear, what a boggart would turn into for you! Kind of like a meme!
Good luck on the battle against your biggest fear!

Day 3 - 8 ways to win my heart?

05 January 2011

Just in case anybody would be interested in winning my heart... Kerri has it by the way.

Day Three – Eight ways to win your heart

Wait, wait. How to win your heart? Your heart? Your? What if I don’t want to win your heart?!
Here’s how to win mine anyway:

#1
Dedicate a book to me. Ever seen the movie Dedication? Well the English guy did it wrong. But that movie made me hope that someday a book will be dedicated to me. It’s also one of my favourite movies; you should go check it out.
#2
Being able (and willing) to cook would be amazing. Because I sure can’t. Have you heard how I’m going to live when I move out? Most likely pizzas, beans on toast and takeaways. No joke.
#3
Watch movies with me. Sounds easy enough but I watch a lot of movies and most of them are really stupid... I also love to see movies at the cinema when they first come out. If I could have my way/more money I would visit the cinema once a week and I don’t think it would ever get old.
#4
Obsess over stupid things with me, such as games/books/movies/TV series/music/candy etc.
#5
Okay this is kinda cheating... But no jewellery. I was friends with this guy who kept asking me out and I kept saying no and around Christmas time he gave me a ring and said it was kinda like an engagement and well long story short I never spoke to him again. I think that Jewellery is a bit creepy in some cases. Unless I know you really, really well it can be interpreted wrongly. ("Wrongly" is a word! Who knew.)
#6
I’m going to go for the very obvious one here: good sense of humour. I’ve got an odd sense of humour and not many people get it all the time. I shock even my closest friends at times with the stuff I say.
#7
I’m not going to say you should hold the same views as me because I love to get into discussions about everything; however I hold some pretty strong views on certain things, such as homosexuality, religion, the elderly and the disabled that you just don’t want to cross.
#7
(It’s getting harder)
I love gadgets *hint hint*
#8
Please don’t judge me on my appearance. Jane Eyre found her true love and she was a short, ugly mess. I mean... she was plain. Because appearance doesn’t matter to me. Well... if you have a nice little stubbly beard thing going on, a bit like Charles Trippy, that would be amazing.

This was quite difficult for me to write because I don’t give much thought to how someone can win my heart.  I read some pretty twisted romance novels and even worse - fan fictions – but I don’t think they’re really appropriate for real life. I also know my list is unrealistic but I could have made it worse... like winning the lottery/being born into a lot of money would have been number one. Someone that will heed my every wish would be next... Oh darn I don’t think rich slaves exist!
