It's 1 in the morning and I'm not sleepy

Good time to blog!

So here are a few things I like a lot that I didn't think I would:

My eReader
I got one for Christmas from my mum and at first I was a little weary towards it because it feels so different from an actual physical book. It didn't help that I couldn't figure out to work it and I thought it was broke because I'd read the instructions wrong. I felt so stupid that something so simple could confuse me so much. But once I got into the flow of it I really liked it so I'd totally recommend one if you're an avid reader.

Kingdom Hearts
This was a gift from Philip for Christmas. Kingdom Hearts 2 on the DS which is apparently the best Kingdom Hearts game for that console. I think I may be in love with Roleplaying games now and I've got a Final Fantasy: Four Heroes of Light and Golden Sun: Dark Dawn lined up to play after I complete it.

Tron Legacy
I'd read reviews about the movie and it didn't sound promising because most said that it was pretty to look at but the plotline was very boring. However I found it to be the opposite. I was drawn in from the beginning; the fantastic music by Daft Punk, excellent special effects, epic fight scenes, crazy cool vehicles (I want a Light Cycle so bad) and amazing actors. I loved Zuse, Sam, Quorra, Tron and Kevin. And yes I did just name basically all the main characters minus CLU.

Hadouken
I was buying a Lady Gaga remix CD from hmv and it was 2 for £10 but I couldn't think of another CD to get so I asked Philip and he grabbed Hadouken saying I probably wouldn't like it but I bought it anyway. I felt like such a chav listening to some of their songs but the beats of the songs had me addicted.

Yet another poor excuse for a blog

I'm in love with the video and her voice; never has French appealed to me so much.

I unfortunately feel like that was 5 years of French lessons down the drain as I know very little of what she's singing but it's beautiful nonetheless. Enjoy! :D

What I hate most about the snow

Is not being allowed to drive. I realised this today while driving home from Newry tonight and we drove past the place where I usually park with my buds and we listen to whatever music Philip and I happen to be obsessed with at the time. The others don't get a say lol. I hate driving now but I still love to listen to music loudly whilst in the car. Even if I do stall and the loud music only attracts more attention to my fail.

I was reading Let the Right One In, set in Norway in winter, and it really set the mood while I read.

So I watched Harry Potter 7 part 1...

And it was amazing. Only thing that bothered me were the giggling boys behind us and the 20-something year old guys sitting beside me that were so rude. I probably had it coming when they started saying random spells and one of them asked, "Hey, what's that spell they use to get rid of Dementors?" "I dunno..." And so I butt in, "That would be Expecto Patronum," I said in my nerdy know-it-all tone and they laughed and mocked me.

I loved when I came out at 8.30 and there was a HUGE queue of people lined up to see the Sold Out showing at 9pm and I laughed at them, while walking away and talking about how awesome the movie was. The cinema was packed! I don't know why people wanted to see it at 9pm when they could see it sooner, like me.

Oh and Dobby was as awesome as ever!

Another thing I'd like to talk about is... The Walking Dead.

It seems to be quite popular in America, I don't know if I like it or not and a part of me is probably just trying to fill the hole that Lost left behind when it ended, but I'm watching it anyway. Unfortunately nobody I know seems to watch it so I don't have anyone to discuss it with and that'll be sad when (if) it gets interesting. I'm hoping for plot twists and confusing storylines that'll leave me wanting more but it's only on its third episode (here in the UK) so it should get better. It's also got a good director so I'm hopeful.

To-do list

I have done my English Literature homework... at home! Yes, I know, pretty unbelievable, right? But I did it because I'm a committed sutdent and stuff.

So Claudia demanded I make a To-do list, which I haven't done since last year in school because it caused me so much stress, seeing all the stuff that needed to be done but I just wasn't doing. Having a to-do list doesn't make me want to do the stuff. In fact I'm more likely to do something if it isn't constantly staring me in the face on my phone's post-it on the wallpaper.

But while I was doing my homework I was thinking of other things... like what would be on my to-do list?

• Catch up with Naruto manga
• Finish watching Kuroshitsuji 2
• Write some history essay plans for tuesday
• Call UU and ask about fees
• Finish reading The Thirteenth Tale
• Go to Belfast and buy another three volumes of D.Gray Man
• Decide on university course
• Write a personal statement
• Update music on phone
• Add new pictures to phone for wallpapers
• Find a new anime to be obsessed with
• Finish reading BxL fanfic I started
• Oh yes... and art.
• Pull together a costume for the prefect disco

How much of this stuff will actually get done?

I tend to start a lot of things and never finish them...  mostly books, unfortunately. My attention span is too short and I get distracted too easily! The Thirteenth Tale (as mentioned in the above list) has a good plotline and I'm genuinely interested to see what becomes of the twins but it's a quite poorly written book so I don't know if I'll finish it...

On the brightside though (as I said before) English Lit homework completed!

Ross Geller

I asked my friends at lunch if I have any phrases I use often or any weird mannerisms and they all looked at me for a moment and then said, altogether, "uuuhhhh". And one of them told me I'm so much like Ross Geller from Friends. Even my "attitude" is like him and I talk in a manner similar to him, pausing and "uh"-ing at the wrong parts of sentences. Nobody thought about it, but when Hannah mentioned it everyone completely agreed! Really?

I don't know how I should feel about it because Ross is described as being "geeky and socially awkward" but he's also the most successful (career-wise) and a failure with relationships because he gets jealous.

A funny fact: Ross's monkey, Marcel, was a capuchin monkey. I used to have a monkey keyring on my blazer called cappuccino monkey because he was a capuchin monkey. How coincidental, lol.

Yesterday felt like the longest day of my life.

Went to bed at 12am, restlessly slept until 3am, threw up at 3am. And my day just went downhill from there onwards.

I'm gonna add that I haven't thrown up since I was 9 years old so when I went to bed with a weird feeling in my stomach I thought I was just hungry. It was also extremely unpleasant projectile vomitting of water, because I couldn't eat anything for fear of seeing it in a bowl of stomach acid half an hour later. Lol, am I disgusting you yet?

I kept falling asleep and waking up from 12pm till 8pm and eventually properly fell asleep at 9 I think and woke up far too early for my liking this morning. I should have went to school but I still felt like crap although the worst of my disease *blegh* was over. And even now I still walk about the place feeling dizzy.

My mother told me I need to pack up some clothes to go to Dublin, to which I replied, "but that's ages away!" "No, Mary-Jane, that's tomorrow..."

Damn my head is completely away with it!

Karma, it exists.

I got the news Sims 3 and Super Scribblenauts games on the DS and I was happy!

Unfortunately I had spent all my Dublin trip money I had been saving to get it.

My mum got angry (D< <angry face = mother) and asked me what I intended to do now. I replied that everything always works out in the end, so it's all good!

I can fit into THAT?!

That was my thought when I was forced to wear my little sister's black trousers to work. The label says age 12-13. And they fitted perfectly. This makes me feel small!

I had Starbursts and Mikado chocolate sticks for breakfast this morning and a cup of coffee so I felt a bit too energetic to be going to work but at least time passed fast and soon enough I was sitting at home, eating dinner and watching Harry Potter so that's a plus.

Watching Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets got me excited for the new movie (out this month!!!!! >3<) and I want to read all the Harry Potter books again before it comes out. But whether I could be bothered to or not is a different question...

I still need a Halloween outfit and it's less than a week away! I can't trick or Treat because I found out it's illegal for me to do so because apparently some people find it intimidating for a teen to knock on their door, asking for candy... it's also considered to be begging... But! I still want to dress up because Halloween isn't Halloween without dressing up. Maybe I could take my brother trick or treating and then just sorta tag along... with my bag...

I have mint imperials that I could be eating right now so I'm going to go and do that, while watching tv. Like the lazy mess I am.

I HIT A CAR!

That sounds so much more dramatic with caps than it actually was...

I'm being a bit of a blog whore but meh.

So there I was...pulling into the car park...and then I got out of the car and went and got some candy (chewy cinnamons if you wanted to know)..then I went back to the car...and reversed...into a car...

I freaked out! I got out and checked for any damage but there was none, not even a scratch, because my car had stalled and I hit the breaks real quick. So I called my dad and asked for advice and he told me to leave the area immediately! And when I got home I checked my own car and there was no damage so I assume that the plastic-y bit that's around the car (ya know the black thing...) must have hit the plastic-y thing on the other car and all was okay!

Don't worry, I'm not an awful person! If I had caused any damage to the other car, even a scratch, I would have got out and found the person to tell them. I don't think I could live with the guilt. D:

On the bright side, now I'm eating chewy cinnamons and having a blast in forums and I will have pizza for dinner and it's the end of school! Until tuesday... And then Dublin art trip! Woo!

Shameless advertising ftw. I'm going to update my dA with other more recent stuff because it's got so little in it and the stuff is so old! I should draw some more over halloween.

Anyway... I signed out before English Lit and I think Ms T may hate me for it. I need to make a good impression again, but how?!

Red hair

I dyed my hair on a whim. My mum and I went to Gordon's chemist, with my voucher that I got for Christmas because it was finally the time to use it (I'd forgotten I had it) and my mother told me I should dye my hair and I told her to hurry up and pick up the bottle before I changed my mind and it would be too late!

I've never dyed my hair before. LIES! I did 3 years ago but the purple streaks soon went orange and nobody even noticed it and the hairdresser charged me £40 for it. So you can understand why I would my doubts about whether it would be a good idea or not...

The hairdye I chose was supposed to be red but you can only really see it when light is shining on it. So many people have said, "You dyed your hair!" and I'm thinking, "Yes... I know..." But it also makes me happy that they noticed it as opposed to last time. And it was so much more cheaper this time too.

But now I want to change the colour again just because it's so easy but I must restrain myself! I don't want to have crap, dry, damaged hair from dying it too much.

On another note: I saw Vampires Suck on saturday and after hearing that the reviews were low and friends had said that it wasn't very good, I was worried I would be wasting my time and money on it. But I'm a hardcore cinema-goer! (I either mispelled something or made up a word...) Or at least I was over the summer... and bad reviews won't stop me! So I, with my compadres, went to see it anyway and from the beginning it had me in stitches. Even the Bella impersonator was hilarious. Continuously twitching and biting her lip. At one stage I needed to pee and went to the toilet and when I came back the wolves were dancing on screen (can't remember to what song now) and Jacob was a chihuahua and I was thoroughly confusing but I laughed walking up the steps to my chair again. The ending topped it all off and overall I thought it was a very good mock of Twilight.

I can't wait for the next week off school and I'm possibly going to Belfast on wednesday or thursday, where I shall have to see Paranormal Activities 2. Just because I saw the first movie and I like to see sequels, despite how bad I expect them to be.

Anyway, I'm off to read one of the new books that I bought now. I should be reading The Illusionist... but meh.

My super awesome asda trip

I probably just publicly embarassed my mother today in asda. I noticed they had changed where the candy shelves were and while looking I noticed my favourite packet of sweets, which I have not seen in asda for a while, were just sitting on one of the shelves, a box full of them! So I ran over, practically shouting, "OH MY GOSH MOTHER THEY GOT STARBURSTS AGAIN."

I also  may have made an enemy of a Twilight fan. The nice lady at the counter said that asda had got some good books in and I said I noticed they had the new Twilight book, the Bree Tanner one, and I debated with myself whether or not to get it and then remember what an awful writer Stephanie Meyers is and she seemed a bit annoyed at that.

I got some blue nail polish (Asda brand) because I couldn't resist the fact I'd just found the perfect shade of blue and when I got it home and my mum tried it on,  because I have school... and it was all washed out and clear and eww and I was disappointed. But it turned out that you were supposed to put 2 or 3 coatings on and it turned out all right in the end.

Aim for this week

I've come to like those weirdoes I sit with in my free periods at school <3 It's only to be expected that when a group of people are placed in a library with homework to be done that they should be distracted by silly things such as games that include postcards falling through tables and avid car collector stories. [Sultan of Brunei story here]

My aim of the day was to reach page 300 of Jane Eyre by the end of school but special thanks are to be made to those who distracted me and I fell 30 pages short of my goal of the day (and I’m a very slow reader).

So here I am now, drinking tea, eating Nice biscuits and reading Jane Eyre in a very rushed manner. I’m aiming to finish it by wednesday or thursday so that I can start reading the Wide Sargasso Sea and I’ll be on top of things again because so far my plan to do all homework when I get it and not get behind has failed very miserably... But I hear that writing down your aims makes you more likely to complete them, soooo Good Luck me. :3

What are the chances...

I'll get my proper wages on wednesday? There are 3 things that can go wrong there:

1. I will get £3.50 an hour, rather than £4.80, despite how I'm 18 and underpaying me is illegal
2. I worked 14 hours but they'll forget that I worked 4 days and only pay me for 2 or 3 days or something
3. I won't get paid on wednesday because they'll forget I exist (like every other week) and maybe I'll get paid on thursday... or friday... Although everyone else gets paid on wednesday

I have told my mother that if I don't get my proper wages on wednesday then I'm going to quit and now she's very pissed off at me because if i quit I'll be letting her down in front of everyone at work and blah blah blah. I wish she would side with me on this.

And to make matters worse my cold is still going strong and everytime I cough I can feel my throat being ripped apart.

Please turn down your crazy remixed Christmas music. Apart from the fact that it's very distracting... and loud... You're so lame! It's not even October yet.

Just when I thought I'd made up my mind...

I'm now stuck again trying to decide what course to take at university. So many people say I should take art but that's just not an option! It would make me scream with the stress and it would take so much patience; patience which I don't have!

I thought I had firmly decided on history and American studies at UU but I've just discovered I'm an idiot and made the mistake of not double-checking they were on the same campus. American studies is in Magee and history is in Coleraine. Fml.

So I'm now checking out other courses at different universities and now I'm even more at a loss of what to do. I don't know whether to do a completely different subject altogether or not, like psychology. I'm afraid I won't like the subject but I'll be stuck with it anyway and I actually played with the idea of doing history with German. The history man at the UU open day was so persuasive! But I don't think I could do it. European studies sounds good. Journalism also appeals to me buuut I don't think I'm cut out to be a journalist; my flop of a blog proves that.

I wish I could just take a sneak peek into the future, just ten years from now or so... or even three years would be good... Just so I'd know what to do or see if I make the right choices and turn out okay.

Ugh, I guess I'm just panicking because it's getting closer and closer to having to write my personal statement, which is a whole entire different story altogether. I wish I had done more in my life so I'd have something to write...

My nose was throttled with an umbrella...

At this point the umbrella breaks as he swings and it flings itself at my face, hitting me squarely on the nose and pain quickly followed.

I don't know how many times he's apologised, probably about the same amount of times he's laughed at the memory of it. I somehow find it hard to see the humour of it all; maybe it has something to do with the cut on my nose or the throbbinbg pain everytime I rub it...

But other than that mishap, yesterday was great. I bought 5 new mangas at forbidden planet, a Death Note encylopedia (which came with a super awesome namecard with a picture of L Lawliet on it), a Scott Pilgrim shirt and scarf/hat/mittens thing with bunny rabbit ears and paw prints on the mittens. I'm such a child :3

Actually, today my mum said that lots of people have said to her that I look too young to be 18. I think my childish behaviour has something to do with that as well, ha. I'm quite happy with that though because it means I still get away with a child ticket on the bus.

I have yet to finish reading Jane Eyre (I should actually be doing that now...) but I've been working all afternoon and I have to go back to work again at 7, so I'm not sure if I'll get to finish chapter 15-20. Chapter summaries ftw! And I also have to get pictures to draw for art and Mrs Art has made my homework to be to get a drawing done for tomorrow but that's not happening. My weekend has been so busy!

It was my birthday 2 days ago and I recieved a new laptop as a gift from my parents, with contributions from my grandparents and a couple of uncles and aunts. I'm very, very grateful! And my mum had arranged a surprise birthday party for me at my granny's house as well, making the day spectacular fun. My three best friends were there, which made it all the more fun. And I actually got redfaced a lot, first when some random old ladies sung Happy Birthday to me in the Kilmorey Arms, as my birthday cake was brought in, and secondly when I walked through the door to the kitchen at my granny's house and saw everyone there, cameras at the ready to snap a picture of me in my shock and embarassment. Cards were shoved into my arms and I opened them, pocketing the money, and attempted to read them but I couldn't concentrate enough to actually know what I was looking at. But it was a very good day! The party was over at 11pm because it was a school night; everyone had started leaving at 10.30.

My granda gave me a hat that belonged to my great granda, before he died, and it has such sentimental value that I felt priviledged to be wearing it. He said it suited me, lol.

Yesterday passed very uneventfully and so I have nothing exciting to say on that topic, but today is friday, I should have something better to say, right? Wrong. Today I sat in school for 5 days, then went home, made this account, walked my dog and went to work. And that was my day. My iPod is dead and I'm much too lazy to be bothered to charge it, so when I walked my dog I felt at a loss without music. I sang to myself the whole time to fill the gap ha. I must have sounded so strange singing the chorus for Nightwork by Scissor Sisters on a loop while being pulled along by my dog.

At work I got very frustrated:
D: Mary-Jane, will you clean this trolley for me? It'll need quite a bit of a clean.
J: Can you clean this for me when you're done?
Me: Sure, sure.
G: Mary-Jane, get a mop!
Me: [scrubbing at the trolley] Frig sake... [turning around] OMG THE KITCHEN IS FLOODED HOW?!

Too much is expected of me at once! And 90 people eating. At the same time. Oh my goodness. When all the waiters/waitresses came in with those dishes I felt like they had just raped my nicely cleaned sink! With the help of two others we finished cleaning by 10.30pm. I can't imagine how long it would have taken me on my own! I'd probably still be there now.

At the moment I'm listening to Dental Care by Owl City. The song makes me laugh because of the silly pun:

Tomorrow I'm going to Belfast for the day with my friends as my original plan to celebrate my birthday was to waste money on silly things, such as star trek badges in Forbidden Planet and new mangas, lol. I also want a new hat but I think I'm pushing it because I don't have that much money (especially after I buy the graphics tablet). Hopefully it will be a good day.
